Job Summary
Conduct electrical work including wiring light-duty switchboards, power and control cabling, instrumentation setup, and commissioning of water treatment equipment. Read and follow electrical schematics to produce desired project outcomes while assisting with quality control via red pen markups of ASCON drawings. Prepare and pack equipment for site-specific tasks involving conduit running, civil assistance, and existing service upgrades. Supervise small teams of apprentices and liaise with clients and contractors on site while representing WestWater professionally. Adhere to occupational safety policies and drive responsibly when operating company vehicles.
Required Qualifications
- Strong general electrical and instrumentation capabilities
- High attention to detail
- Effective analytical and fault-finding abilities
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work within a team and liaise effectively with stakeholders
- Ability to read and follow electrical and instrumentation diagrams and GA drawings
- Flexibility to support mechanical or service tasks depending on workload
- Minor dogging and rigging skills
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Instrumentation experience—water industry highly regarded
- Understanding of automated or PLC-controlled systems
- Experience with light-duty power and control cubicle manufacture
- Completed electrical trade with a valid Electrical Licence
- Certificate IV in Instrumentation
- Valid Australian driver's licence
- Forklift licence
- White/Blue Construction Card
- Current National Police Clearance
- Turning up fit for work, being well rested and free from drugs and alcohol
- Away site work throughout QLD, at times for periods up to 3 weeks
Desired Qualifications
- Instrumentation experience—water industry highly regarded
