Job Summary

Electrical & Instrumentation Technician responsible for servicing and maintaining advanced equipment and systems in a world-class pulp and paper facility. Calibrate instrumentation devices using specialized test equipment and software; respond to trouble calls and emergencies; perform preventive and breakdown maintenance; troubleshoot and install instrumentation and control systems, including PLCs (GE Series VI, AB SLCs, Siemens), hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, pumps, and power distribution. Maintain documentation (printouts, system drawings) and operate diagnostic tools (data loggers, oscilloscopes, Fluke meters). Must be able to work at heights, in varied temperatures, and in a union environment; willing to work overtime; no license required. Emphasizes team-oriented, self-directed work style and adherence to safety practices; involves testing and calibration, control loops understanding, and proficiency with basic computer systems. Physical demands include climbing stairs, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working around hazardous environments.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Industrial Electronics, Industrial Maintenance Technology, or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years related industry experience
  • Ability to operate industrial machinery and testing/measuring instruments
  • Ability to read schematics and mechanical drawings
  • Must pass electrical/Instrumentation test
  • Ability to pass drug screen and background check
  • Comfortable working in a Union environment
