Electrical Instrumentation Technician

Job Summary
Conduct electrical maintenance, instrumentation repair, and troubleshooting across all plant areas, including motors, VFDs, and PLC/DCS systems. Perform installations of instrument controls and process units while monitoring operating conditions to ensure safe and efficient production. Diagnose malfunctions by observing control instruments and warning signals, then inspect equipment for leaks, breakages, or faulty cables to determine necessary repairs. Move, set, and calibrate controls for automatic regulation of process variables such as flow, temperature, and pressure. Manage confined space entry, climb ladders, and work at heights while handling up to 60 lbs. Utilize Maximo CMMS for task management and apply knowledge of industrial communication systems and electrical drawings.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
- Strong Electrical Experience required
- PLC/DCS knowledge
- Knowledge of Hart, Field Buss, Aussie, Devise Net, Delta V Communication Systems, Allen Bradley PLC Control Systems
- Ability to read and update electrical and device net online drawings
- Understanding of discrete and analog systems
- Must be able to manage confined space entry, climb ladders and steps, lift up to 60 lbs. and work at heights
- Must be able to work near moving mechanical parts
- Must be able to work in dusty conditions
- Must be able to work in high noise environments
- Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions
- Must be able to be exposed to chemicals used in the process
- Ability to handle multiple tasks
- Ability to work well with others and the ability to work independently
- Ability to apply knowledge in the areas of planning, organizing, interpersonal communications
- Experience with Arc and MIG welding
- Mechanical background with bearing changes, pumps, conveyors, etc.
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with industrial equipment operations and care
- Pneumatic & Hydraulic Experience strongly preferred
