Job Summary
Develop detailed work plans for preventative, predictive, corrective, and shutdown maintenance activities across the electrical, instrumentation, control system, and automation sectors. Review maintenance work requests to convert approved tasks into executable plans, estimating labor hours, required trades, equipment, tooling, and contractor needs. Prepare comprehensive job packages including work instructions, technical drawings, procedures, permits, and safety documentation while ensuring all spare parts and materials are identified and ordered before execution. Collaborate with Maintenance Supervisors, Reliability Engineers, and Operations to develop weekly and shutdown schedules, prioritizing work based on safety, operational risk, and production requirements. Monitor planning backlogs, CMMS data integrity, and performance indicators including schedule compliance and work order quality. Participate in root cause analysis investigations to implement corrective strategies and recommend improvements to preventative maintenance programs. Ensure all plans comply with company safety standards, legislative requirements, and mine site procedures, incorporating isolation, lockout tagout, and risk assessment protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Trade certification or associate degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical and/or instrumentation maintenance within mining, mineral processing, heavy industry, or a related industrial environment
- Strong understanding of electrical and instrumentation maintenance practices
- Working knowledge of preventative, predictive, and reliability centered maintenance principles
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics, instrumentation drawings, P&IDs, and technical manuals
- Strong planning, organization, and time management skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
- High level of computer literacy including Microsoft Office Suite and CMMS applications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a dynamic mining environment
- Understanding of mine site safety systems, risk management, and work permit processes
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in a maintenance planning or maintenance scheduling role
- Experience coordinating shutdowns and major maintenance activities
- Experience planning maintenance for fixed plant assets such as conveyors, crushers, grinding mills, pumps, processing plants, HV/LV electrical distribution systems, instrumentation and process control systems, PLCs, SCADA, and automation equipment
- Experience using CMMS software such as SAP PM, Pronto, Oracle, Maximo, or similar maintenance systems
