Job Summary
Electrical & Instrumentation Field Engineer/Specialist (Mining) to perform field inspections, issue technical queries and non-conformance reports, and coordinate between Owner, Engineers of Record, and construction teams. Responsibilities include reviews of submittals (contractor project execution plans, quality plans, ITPs), issuing quality incident reports, managing TQs/FCNs/FCRs/NCRs, communicating design changes, conducting electrical and instrumentation field inspections, leveraging ICC platforms, reviewing quantities, attending construction walk-downs, and ensuring turnover documentation. Role involves shaft mining underground work, planning and coordinating with engineering on constructability and testing of electrical systems (lighting, high voltage, grounding, DCS), and maintaining collaborative relationships with the Engineer of Record and project controls. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (P.Eng. is an asset), 5–10 years of relevant mining/capital-project experience, and strong QA/ISO/ITP knowledge.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant work experience
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registration in the Province of Saskatchewan is considered an asset
- Minimum 5–10 years of relevant experience in the electrical discipline on large-scale capital projects, preferably within mining, potash, heavy industrial, or similarly complex construction environments
- Strong working knowledge of quality management systems, including ISO standards, inspection and test plans (ITPs), and auditing processes supporting major project delivery
- Functional knowledge of industry-leading engineering standards and engineering management practices in a multi-discipline EPC/EPCM environment
- Working knowledge of integrated project delivery workflows and ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders
