Job Summary
Manage Instrument and Electrical (I/C/E) projects to ensure safety, quality, cost, and schedule targets are met while complying with L.A. Turbine standards. Design control systems, algorithms, and network architectures for turbomachinery packages, program PLCs and HMIs, and develop piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) and control narratives. Provide expert direction to engineering and project management teams, review vendor quotations, and conduct investigations for system failures to identify necessary modifications. Work with lead mechanical engineers to develop technical strategies and support customers and field technicians during construction and commissioning. Develop procedures, identify training requirements, and stay current with technical innovations. BSME or BSEE required with five+ years of I/C/E experience.
Required Qualifications
- BSME or BSEE from an accredited institution
- Five or more years of experience as an Instrument and Electrical Engineer
- Working knowledge of piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), wiring diagrams, control panel layouts, and motor control schematics
- Strong diagnostic/fault finding skills
- Excellent computer skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- In-depth knowledge of standards and procedures and industry best practices
- Ability to produce drawings and documentation in AutoCAD
Desired Qualifications
- Preferred two years of experience in the turbomachinery industry
- Some knowledge of an Allen-Bradley PLC equipment
