Job Summary

Create physical and plan drawings to scale, showing relation of proposed installations to existing facilities and exact specifications. Produce wiring diagrams, schematics, conduit/cable schedules, and loop diagrams for installers and electricians. Interpret P&IDs, provide I&C input into diagrams, and conceptualize plans to accurately convey wiring termination requirements. Assist engineers with initial design requirements and accompany experienced designers on walkdowns at client facilities to gather information. Interface with vendors and contractors to explain drawings and facilitate design adjustments. Work three days a week in the office with two days remote. No U.S. work authorization sponsorship available.

Required Qualifications

  • A high school diploma and equivalent technical design experience
  • Six (6) or more years of Electrical/Instrumentation & Controls design experience, including 2D & 3D
  • Advanced drafting experience using standard computer drafting tools (i.e. AutoCAD or MicroStation) on power plants or other large-scale industrial facilities projects
  • Ability to visualize parts in 3D without the aid of the computer
  • Ability to multi-task from project to project

  • Ability to travel as necessary for client meetings, job site visits, assist in data gathering, etc

Desired Qualifications

  • Associates Degree in Computer Aided Design
  • Experience using both AutoCAD and MicroStation software
  • Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology, including the ability to relate various equipment to a technical design
  • Experience in the development of grounding layouts, underground duct bank and embedded conduit drawings, cable tray and exposed conduit layouts, instrument location plans, area classification plans, and electrical equipment location drawings
  • Design experience in the development of single-line, and relay and metering diagrams, including medium-voltage and 480V systems
  • Familiarity with digital control systems
  • Experience with 3D Lighting Calculation programs, and experience in Heat trace design preferred
