Job Summary
Part-time IEC Apprenticeship Technical Instructor delivering IEC National Curriculum to students in the Apprenticeship program in the Atlanta & Georgia Chapter. Responsibilities include presenting curriculum using PowerPoint and visual aids, supervising and guiding apprentices, preparing lesson plans, enforcing Electrical Safety Procedures (including eye protection and lock out/tag out), conducting hands-on learning exercises, managing classrooms, submitting grades and attendance, and attending instructor meetings. Requires completion of the IEC Apprenticeship Program and ideally a Georgia Electrical Contractors License, high school diploma or GED, at least five years of electrical work experience, extensive NEC knowledge, strong communication skills, and basic computer skills with MS Office and LMS/CMS. Classroom management and the ability to work with diverse learners are emphasized, with additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of the IEC Apprenticeship program and a Georgia Electrical Contractors License is preferred. Other related educational degrees are accepted.
- A high school diploma or General Education Equivalent (GED).
- Actively performed work on electrical systems in the construction, repair, inspection or design as they pertain to the residential, commercial or industrial industry for a minimum of five (5) years.
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of the National Electrical Code.
- Good communication skills.
- Basic computer skills demonstrating effective use of Microsoft Office products and use of Learning Management System (LMS/CMS).
- Completion of a course of study in electrical construction under the direction and supervision of an established school or apprenticeship program.
- Ability to complete objectives without direct supervision.
