Job Summary
Electrical Inspector role focused on site inspections for traffic signals and roadway lighting in Ontario. Responsibilities include performing site Electrical Inspections, field inspections of commercial electrical projects for compliance with building codes and design requirements, monitoring electrical construction under Contract Administrator, issuing notices of violation or corrective action, coordinating with contractors/designers/owners on code requirements, reviewing routing requests and preparing inspection-findings reports, investigating and resolving special complaints concerning electrical systems, performing follow-up inspections to verify compliance, and interpreting and explaining electrical installation/construction requirements including the Ontario Provincial and Canadian Electrical Codes. Additional General Civil and Roadway Inspections may be performed as needed, with training provided. Requires strong attention to detail, ability to explain code requirements, and collaboration with project teams. Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma with 4+ years’ experience as Electrician/Technician OR 2-3 years Associate College Degree in Electrical Engineering with 2-3 years’ experience as Electrician/Technician
- Valid Ontario Electrician Technician License is a must
- IMSA Technician or Inspector Certification is desired
- Knowledge of broadband Fiber Optics, communications construction, maintenance and implementation is preferred
- Must have valid Ontario driver license for field inspections
