Job Summary
Conduct routine and hold-point inspections for cables, terminations, earthing, trays, lighting, motors, switchgear, and packaged equipment in line with Inspection & Test Plans. Verify materials and installation methods match specifications, datasheets, and approved drawings. Witness and review test results including IR/megger, continuity, earth resistance, torque checks, and functional checks to ensure records are complete. Identify defects, raise non-conformances, and track corrective actions to closure while supporting pre-commissioning and energization readiness. Provide daily inspection reports, progress updates, and inputs to look-ahead planning. Ensure hazardous area requirements are met and coordinate with contractors, vendors, and commissioning teams to achieve right-first-time delivery.
Required Qualifications
- US Citizen or Permanent US Resident
- Technical diploma/degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent trade/technical qualification
- Typically 5+ years' experience inspecting electrical works on industrial, energy, or large infrastructure projects
- Strong knowledge of electrical construction practices, testing methods, and interpretation of drawings and specifications
- Familiarity with QA/QC systems (ITPs, hold points, MDRs, NCRs, punch management) and commissioning readiness
- Working knowledge of electrical safety, PTW/LOTO, and hazardous area requirements (IECEx/ATEX concepts)
- CompEx/Ex training
- Confident communicator with clear, factual reporting and strong contractor/stakeholder management
- Proficient with common digital tools (Excel/Word) and inspection reporting systems
