Job Summary
Conduct electrical construction on solar fields by performing DC trenching, MV cable installation, conduit work, fiber termination, and inverter DC termination. Execute transformer and sectionalizer MV termination, manage wire splices and riser termination, and install SCADA equipment, combiner boxes, and modules. Perform string current checks, megger testing, and various voltage tests including PD, VLF, VOC, and IV curve testing. Lead training on underground aspects, manage survey and as-built documentation, and oversee switching and energization. Work outdoors in all weather conditions while lifting heavy materials and following precise safety protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Able to lift 50+ pound materials, maneuvering them into their proper places
- Able to conduct repetitive actions, such as stooping, bending, pushing, pulling, and reaching
- Able to stand or walk for extended periods of time
- Able to follow precise instruction and receive feedback
- Strong teamwork skills and ability to work well with others, including colleagues and supervisors
- Able to train others on all aspects of Underground
- This position requires working outdoors in various, often extreme weather conditions including rain, snow, heat, cold, etc.
- Candidates must be able to work in all weather conditions, as safety permits
- This position may also include exposure to loud noises, dust, debris, and other construction-related hazards
- GED or equivalent education
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working on solar construction projects preferred
