Job Summary
Electrical Field Engineer traveling to client data-center sites to act as the onsite engineering representative, coordinating design and construction for multi-year data-center projects. Responsible for ensuring design intent, coordinating RFI/RFPs, submittals, shop drawings, CAD/BIM models, and closeout deliverables; performing field verification, site observations, QA/QC, and producing reports for the design team. Requires strong background in electrical/mechanical engineering, data-center systems (UPS, generators, switchgear, electrical distribution), MEP coordination, and experience with AutoCAD/Revit/BIM; client-facing role with attendance at commissioning and coordination meetings; onsite liaison between ownership, contractors, and offsite design teams; travel to multiple data-center locations and ability to work from construction trailers on-site; 5-10+ years experience and a BS in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or Construction preferred.
Required Qualifications
- 5-10+ years experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering or Construction preferred but relevant experience also considered
- EIT or PE license is a plus but not required
- Strong understanding of MEP systems with a strength in Generators, UPS, Switchgear, Electrical Power Distribution
- Knowledge of Mechanical Systems (HVAC, CRAC/CRAH, Boilers, Chillers) is a plus
- Previous Data Center / Mission Critical experience a must
- Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM for design reviews is a plus
- Proficient in construction administration and document management
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyze field conditions and recommend solutions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interaction with Owners, contractors, and engineering teams
- Ability to work on large construction sites independently and safely
- Self-starter, self-motivated, and prioritize well
- Computer savvy / Microsoft Project, Excel. Teams, etc.
- Previous Military / Military Veterans experience a huge plus
