Electrical Field Engineer

Job Summary
Apply drawings, specifications, and inspection reports to verify installation quality and quantity. Prepare quantity listings for field-purchased materials and equipment, then initiate requisitions as needed. Review construction drawings, schedules, and estimates to analyze scope, time, and resource requirements while ensuring vendor bids conform to specifications. Coordinate with engineering design on constructability issues, supervise subcontractor efforts, and administer routine changes. Interpret design drawings to monitor equipment installation and plan material delivery, ensuring proper warehousing for environmental protection. Work with various functions to achieve corporate goals for safety, quality, cost, and schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Required bachelor's degree (or international equivalent)
- 5-8 years of relevant experience
- 9-12 years of relevant work experience
- Technical knowledge of electrical engineering discipline
- Technical knowledge of cost
- Technical knowledge of scheduling
- Technical knowledge of contracts administration
- Technical knowledge relating to the construction of heavy industrial or commercial complexes
- Demonstrated leadership in a team-based environment
- Knowledge and understanding of the application and requirements of the Project Environmental, Safety & Health (ES&H) Handbook
- Knowledge and understanding of the application and requirements of the Bechtel Core Processes
- Familiar with Bechtel's Business Ethics handbook and policies
- Prior experience supervising and administering subcontractors
- Knowledge of Bechtel's 'Zero Accidents' safety program
- Computer literate in word processing
- Computer literate in spreadsheet
- Computer literate in database applications
- Knowledge of the use of subcontracts
- Knowledge of the contractor/ subcontractor's responsibilities contained in subcontract documents
