Electrical Estimator (On-Site)

Job Summary
Collect historical cost data to estimate costs for current or future electrical systems and analyze blueprints to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates. Consult with clients, vendors, engineers, and subcontractors to formulate estimates, resolve issues, and review contract documents for project turnover. Conduct quantitative take-offs, enter computer data, and coordinate efforts with junior staff to issue bills of material and obtain subcontractor quotes. Attend walk-throughs, pre-bid meetings, and value engineering sessions to recommend design solutions based on cost and engineering quality. Maintain relationships with customers and General Contractors while ensuring documents are centrally saved and escalating critical issues to leadership.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- 5+ years related experience in the electrical construction industry
- Knowledge of the construction industry and contract documentation
- Working knowledge of federal, state, and city regulations and guidelines
- Working knowledge of NEC
- Must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, (i.e. Outlook, Word and Excel)
- Must demonstrate integrity, honesty, professionalism and commitment to company values
- Must be self-motivated and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Must have excellent organizational, communication, strategic, technical, analytical, problem solving, and multi-tasking skills
- Must have high standards of quality with attention to detail
- Must possess ability to manage and supervise personnel
- Must build positive working relationships with multiple levels of employees, management, suppliers, and customers
- Must have the demonstrated ability to effectively communicate in English
- Must have the ability to navigate around job site locations
- Must be able to commute to field locations
Desired Qualifications
- Prior estimating experience in Electrical Construction or similar field
- Familiarity with Accubid, and other electrical, technical, or construction programs
- Familiarity with project management/document control software
- Familiarity with construction/financial software packages
