Job Summary
Prepare accurate, competitive cost estimates for electrical construction projects by reviewing plans, specifications, and bid documents to perform detailed take-offs. Coordinate with internal teams, general contractors, and vendors throughout the bidding and pre-construction process. Attend pre-bid meetings, perform site visits, and process RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs while qualifying and verifying proposals for completeness. Manage multiple bids simultaneously, analyze trade-specific drawings, and communicate discrepancies to the design team. Serve as the primary contact for manufacturer pricing and lead times, producing bid lists, analyses, and reports. Conduct cost checks on larger projects and maintain proficiency in internal estimating systems.
Required Qualifications
- Associates or Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Construction, Engineering, or related field
- 5-10 years of experience in electrical estimating or electrical construction
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, codes, and construction methods
- Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documents
- Experience with estimating software (McCormick, Accubid, Trimble, Bluebeam, or similar)
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, and digital estimating tools
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Desired Qualifications
- Associates or Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Construction, Engineering, or related field (Preferred but not required)
