Electrical Estimator - Data Center Construction

Job Summary
Senior Electrical Estimator role based in Charlotte, NC for a data center performance-focused electrical contracting firm. Responsible for developing accurate electrical construction estimates, pricing value-engineered alternatives, budgeting from schematics, drafting proposals and vendor solicitations, and delivering final bid packages. Will lead estimating team meetings, review contractual documents, validate estimates, and facilitate handoffs to operations. Requires leadership in estimating departments, strong client-facing skills, and extensive knowledge of electrical codes, calculations, and estimating software. Must be able to manage bids from $10M to $100M and collaborate with general contractors, owners, developers, and end users. Proactive, organized, and detail-oriented with the ability to train junior estimators and interface with clients.
Required Qualifications
- 3-7 years of estimating and preconstruction bid experience on large electrical projects
- Knowledge of Code requirements and basic electrical engineering calculations (voltage-drop, Ohm’s law, conduit-fill, wire ampacity, de-rating)
- Proven experience driving bid process execution for $10M-$100M bids
- Electrical contracting experience required (union or non-union)
- Contacts within the industry to contribute to bid success
- Experience interacting with State and local municipalities is a plus
- Solid knowledge of estimating software (Accubid Anywhere with LiveCount, McCormick, Bluebeam; ConEst a plus)
- Highly motivated, organized, detail-oriented; able to work independently
- Client-facing/client relationship management skills a plus
- Proficient with Microsoft Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, MS Project, MS Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP), Adobe, Primavera P6, Bluebeam, Procure
- Strong analytical/problem-solving abilities
- Experience with critical facilities / data center environments
- Military/veteran experience a plus (Navy Nukes, Seabees, Army power generation, etc.)
