Job Summary
Electrical Commercial Estimator position develops cost estimates for construction projects by collecting and analyzing data, applying relevant metrics, and preparing bids. Responsibilities include visiting sites/warehouses to gather information, reviewing documents with experts, forecasting costs, producing detailed reports, evaluating offers/quotes, and coordinating with vendors (subcontractors, architects, etc.). Must be comfortable with numbers, have excellent communication and negotiation skills, and possess a certified electrical apprenticeship. Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., Viewpoint, ConEst) and MS Word/Excel is required. Reports directly to the VP of Estimating and works Monday–Friday approximately 7am–4pm.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience as an electrical estimator in residential and commercial
- Experience in electrical field work of at least five (5) years
- Attended a certified electrical apprenticeship program
- Computer experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Proven experience as electrical estimator
- Hands on attitude
- Basic understanding of accounting and project management concepts
