Job Summary
Review plans, specifications, and bid documents to perform detailed quantity takeoffs and prepare accurate cost estimates for labor, materials, and subcontractors. Solicit vendor quotations, develop value-engineering solutions, and prepare complete bid packages for submission. Collaborate with leadership, project managers, and subcontractors to win commercial, industrial, municipal, and infrastructure projects while maintaining estimating databases and utilizing industry software. Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client follow-ups to drive project success and support department growth.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of electrical estimating experience
- Strong background in commercial and/or industrial electrical construction
- Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and bid documents
- Experience performing quantity takeoffs and preparing complete estimates
- Strong knowledge of electrical materials, equipment, and installation methods
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple bids simultaneously
- Excellent communication and follow-up skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and estimating software
- Valid driver's license and ability to attend site visits when required
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Electrical Bid Manager or similar estimating software
- Experience with medium-voltage systems
- Knowledge of instrumentation and controls
- Experience estimating water/wastewater, municipal, healthcare, or industrial projects
