Job Summary
Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents to perform electrical quantity takeoffs and develop detailed labor and material estimates. Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing while preparing complete bid packages and proposals. Attend site visits and pre-bid meetings to identify project risks and value-engineering opportunities. Work closely with Project Managers through project handoffs, assist with change orders and project budgeting, and build relationships with customers, vendors, engineers, and general contractors. Requires 3+ years of experience in electrical construction, OSHA 30 certification, and proficiency with estimating software.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of estimating experience in electrical construction, lighting, low voltage, fire alarm, security systems, or related construction trades
- Ability to read blueprints, electrical drawings, and specifications
- Strong understanding of electrical systems and construction practices
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel, Outlook & Word)
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- OSHA 30 and SST certifications (or ability to maintain required certifications)
Desired Qualifications
- Construction Management or Engineering degree
- Experience with commercial electrical construction and lighting projects
- Knowledge of NEC and local electrical codes
- Experience using estimating software
- Design-Build or Design-Assist experience
