Electrical Estimator

Job Summary
Prepare complete cost estimates for electrical projects based on contract bids, quotations, schematic drawings, and specifications for both public and private projects. Execute labor and material take-offs, attend pre-bid conferences and site visits, and coordinate price packages with suppliers, subcontractors, owners, designers, and architects. Assess project cost performance by tracking actuals against contractor bids and prepare project cost breakdowns to turnover estimates to project management once awarded. Requires 5 years of estimating experience, a Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, finance, or business, and proficiency in Procore, Agora, and Google Suite. McCormick knowledge is a plus.
Required Qualifications
- McCormick knowledge
- Knowledge of electric systems, equipment, engineering, construction, pricing and operation
- Knowledge of estimating techniques and principles and the ability to interpret computerized cost data and systems
- Self-motivated, proactive and a quick learner that can thrive in a dynamic and fast paced work environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication, organization, planning, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions
- Understanding of financial information and financial functions
- Proficiency in computer programs including Google Suite, Procore, Agora
- A Bachelor's Degree in engineering or Construction management OR Bachelor's Degree in Finance/Business OR the equivalent combination of experience and education
- Estimating experience - 5 years at a mid-level estimator
- Experience in understanding blueprints, electrical diagrams, specifications, proposals, and contractual documentation to prepare estimates for projects and services
