Job Summary
Responsible for supporting the design, development and testing of electrical generators and components across projects. Responsibilities include optimizing electromagnetic design of hydroelectric generators for proposals and contracts, component analysis, preparing documentation for proposals, technical reports and manuals, creating manufacturing and testing instructions, resolving manufacturing non-conformities, on-site testing data review, development of design tools, and R&D for new generator technologies. Requires hands-on electrical design experience, CAD proficiency, troubleshooting skills, and familiarity with industry standards.
Required Qualifications
- 5 to 10 years of experience in electrical design of hydro-generators or related induction/synchronous machines for power generation and heavy industry applications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field is a plus
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems
- Hands-on experience with debugging tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters for troubleshooting electrical issues
- Familiarity with Electromagnetic finite element methods
- Understanding of industry standards
- Mechanical knowledge relevant to integrating electrical components into mechanical assemblies
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on root cause analysis
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
