Job Summary
Electrical Engineering Technical Lead based in Langley, BC, Canada, is the technical authority for switchgear and distribution-product designs, leading and mentoring engineers, developing preliminary electrical drawings and BOMs, and aligning designs with customer specs and applicable standards. The role collaborates with multiple functions (mechanical, manufacturing, quality, testing, production, supply chain) to deliver manufacturing-ready designs, supports NPD from concept to production release, and guides PLC/HMI programming, electrical schematics, and testing activities while driving standardization and cost-reduction initiatives. This onsite role requires strong leadership, customer focus, and foundational expertise in electrical design, standards compliance, and CAD documentation, with a view toward long-term career growth within Regal Rexnord.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
- 5+ years of electrical design experience in a manufacturing or ETO environment
- Experience producing manufacturing-ready drawings and bills of materials
- Experience designing switchgears, control panels, and distribution products
- Experience with paralleling generator systems for mission critical applications (data centers, hospitals, banks, etc.)
- High proficiency in AutoCAD for electrical design and documentation
- Deep understanding of electrical standards and codes (UL, CSA, ANSI, NEC, IEEE)
- Professional engineering certification (P.Eng.) is a strong asset
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP preferred)
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship
