Job Summary
Support engineering and design of new projects by collaborating with instrumentation and controls or electrical discipline leads. Solve engineering and design problems using hands-on aptitude, complete calculations and drawings, and adhere to relevant standards and specifications. Assist with vendor drawing reviews, perform site inspections, and gather information as required. This role involves developing electrical engineering principles knowledge through challenging assignments at Canadian Natural's Major Projects team. Candidates may work in Calgary or Fort McMurray, with potential for frequent site visits and night shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in Electrical Engineering
- Possess a valid Class 5 Alberta driver's license or equivalent out of province license with a reasonably clean driver's abstract
- Must be prepared to work in the field and work shifts (which may include night shifts) and to remain on call during off hours
- All candidates applying to Canadian Natural must have legal authorization to work in Canada with no restrictions
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Strong electrical/instrumentation & controls aptitude is an asset
- Solid computer/IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
