Electrical Engineering Student - Bitumen Production Reliability

Job Summary

Conduct operations, maintenance, and construction support activities for the Upgrading and Utilities or Bitumen Production Engineering Team. Collaborate with project and operations teams to align with requirements, review assets and data to improve maintenance frequency and equipment uptime, and assist engineers in producing maintenance work packages. Gather field measurements, check designs executed by contractors, evaluate equipment purchase specifications, and coordinate with various disciplines to resolve engineering issues. Develop electric heat tracing designs and drawings, while creating and maintaining project deliverables such as Lessons Learned Logs and Technical Deviation Requests. This role requires a Class 5 Alberta driver's license, involves 10-hour shifts on a 4-on-3-off schedule, and offers a competitive salary with fly-in/fly-out sponsorship.

Required Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in Electrical Engineering or within one year of graduation
  • Possess a valid Class 5 Alberta driver's license or equivalent out of province license with a reasonably clean driver abstract
  • Comfortable driving work trucks in a safe manner
  • Legal authorization to work in Canada with no restrictions
