Job Summary
Electrical Engineering Project Lead in Toronto, Ontario. Lead and collaborate on project delivery for building electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, fire alarms, and low-voltage systems. Responsibilities include project management, contract administration, field reviews, design coordination, preparation of working drawings and specifications, client communication, and supporting business development with fee proposals. Responsibilities also encompass site visits, condition reports, and providing technical advisory services. Must prepare load calculations and analyses using industry-standard electrical engineering software, conduct internal technical reviews, and ensure alignment with client requirements and industry best practices. Preference for candidates with 3+ years of experience in the Canadian buildings construction industry, EIT or licensed Ontario engineer (or eligibility), and familiarity with CEC and OBC; Electrical designers will also be considered. Hybrid work model available.
Required Qualifications
- 3 to 8 years of professional experience in electrical engineering, specifically in building systems (power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low voltage)
- EIT or registered engineer in Ontario (or eligible for registration) is preferred
- Electrical designers will also be considered
- Familiarity with the electrical engineering environment, including detailed design drawings, tender packages, feasibility studies, budget estimates, shop drawing reviews, commissioning, and condition assessments
- Extensive understanding of building construction and electrical systems
- Detailed working knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and the Ontario Building Code (OBC)
