Job Summary
Lead the design and analysis of complex electrical systems for large-scale HVAC and MEP projects, developing design documents including layouts, schematics, block diagrams, and one-line diagrams. Collaborate daily with multi-disciplinary teams and specialists on fire alarm, lighting, and power distribution to coordinate equipment sizing and needs. Prepare project specifications, cost estimates, and proposals while assisting in mentoring junior staff to expand the MEP practice. Requires a P.E. license, 8+ years of experience, and proficiency in AutoCAD and power analysis tools like SKM or ETAP. Full-time role based in St. Paul, Minnesota, with travel for site visits.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years experience in an Electrical Engineering role
- Willingness to travel to support site visits and client meetings, as needed
- Ability to work in a team; both collaborating with and mentoring junior staff
Desired Qualifications
- Professional Engineering (P.E.) License (or ability to obtain within 12 months) preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering preferred
- Understanding of the National Electrical Code, National Electrical Safety Code, IEEE and ANSI Standards
- Experience in utility-scale PV, MEP, HVAC, wind generation, energy storage, electric vehicle charging infrastructure, microgrid, substation, or data center designs
- Experience in engineering project management
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Experience in power system analysis using SKM, ETAP, or equivalent
- Experience in transient studies using PSCAD, EMTP-RV, or equivalent
- Experience in lighting designs and photometrics using AGI32, or equivalent
- Comfortable programming in Python or MATLAB
