Job Summary
Electrical Engineering Manager leading a multidisciplinary team responsible for facility electrical power systems, machine power distribution, machine control electronics, and electrical hardware design. Oversee design, installation, and maintenance of 480V/240V distribution, switchgear, MCCs, UPS, and generators; ensure safety compliance (NEC, NFPA 70E, UL, CE); provide engineering support for machine-level systems (power distribution, drives, controls electronics, sensors, wiring); partner with Facilities, Manufacturing, and Automation teams on installations and upgrades; lead root-cause analysis for electrical failures and downtime; maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and PLC/electronics interfaces; manage external contractors and vendors; drive continuous improvement in power reliability, energy efficiency, and electrical safety; provide capital project support including scope development, design review, and commissioning; serve as Electrical AHJ; based in Oak Ridge, TN.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or related field
- 7+ years of experience in power electronics design and development
- U.S. citizenship
- DOE “Q” level security clearance (or ability to obtain)
- Proven leadership experience in managing engineering teams
- Strong knowledge of electrical standards and safety compliance (NEC, NFPA 70E, UL, CE)
- Experience with analog and digital circuit design, PCB layout, and simulation tools
- Ability to provide capital project support and design reviews
- Experience coordinating with facilities, manufacturing, and automation teams
- AHJ responsibility or experience is a plus
- Experience with design, installation, and maintenance of electrical power systems
