Job Summary

Electrical Engineering Manager leading a team of electrical engineers (up to 12 staff) to support utility, industrial, and commercial power system projects. Oversees electrical system design, power system studies, protection & control work, and project execution to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient infrastructure. Hybrid schedule with travel to project sites throughout Texas and the company’s office in the San Antonio area. Key responsibilities include leading engineers, overseeing load flow, short circuit, arc flash, coordination, harmonics, motor-starting, and DC analysis; designing protection & control schemes for substations, transmission, and distribution; supporting testing, commissioning, QA/QC, and field walkdowns; collaborating with project management and stakeholders; driving process improvements in training, quality, and engineering standards; and preparing technical reports, estimates, and risk assessments.

Required Qualifications

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or similar and active P.E. license (Texas or ability to obtain within 90 days)
  • 12+ years of total experience with 7+ years of power systems experience specifically, and 3+ years as Engineer of Record and leading engineering teams
  • Proficiency with ETAP, SKM, CYME, PowerWorld, and CAD tools
  • Strong knowledge of protection & control, transmission/distribution systems, and industry standards (IEEE, NEC, NESC, NFPA)
  • Previous track record of establishing and leading teams, along with proven ability to leverage business development expertise to drive new client growth

Desired Qualifications

  • P.E. license (Texas or ability to obtain within 90 days)
