Job Summary
Electrical Engineering Manager needed to provide strategic leadership for electric transmission and distribution engineering in a public utility setting. Lead and mentor engineering supervisors and staff; oversee planning, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of complex capital and operational projects; ensure regulatory compliance (NERC, FERC, ERCOT, Texas PUC) and safety; develop standards, procedures, and design criteria; manage budgets and contracts; coordinate with regulatory bodies and drive continuous improvement in engineering processes. Requires a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, 7–9 years of electric utility engineering experience, supervisory experience, Texas PE or ability to obtain within one year, and a valid Texas Driver’s License. Office and field work including substations and construction sites; ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Knowledge of transmission and distribution system design, regulatory requirements, and strong leadership and communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field
- 7–9 years of progressively responsible electric utility engineering experience
- Supervisory or managerial experience leading engineering teams
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Texas or ability to obtain within one year
- Valid Texas Driver’s License
- Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, databases, modeling, and planning tools
- Ability to work in office and field environments, including substations and construction sites
