Job Summary
Electrical Engineering Manager (Team Lead) based in Denver, CO, leading and growing the electrical engineering team within AECOM’s Buildings + Places practice. Responsible for technical leadership as the Engineer of Record, leading design for mid-size projects and major scopes on large multidisciplinary programs, performing advanced electrical calculations and technical reporting, and overseeing construction administration. Focus areas include power distribution, lighting design, emergency and critical power, grounding, lightning protection, fire alarm and low-voltage systems, and delivering resilient, electrification-focused designs. Responsibilities also include people leadership (hiring, mentoring, career development), delivery ownership (scope development, staffing, proposal support), and collaboration across regional offices. Requires a hybrid in-office schedule in Denver with strong communication, teamwork, and client-facing capabilities. Preferred qualifications include a Master’s degree, 12+ years of experience, LEED/AP/CEM, and PE licensure; sponsorship is not available. The role offers growth toward Senior Engineering Manager or Electrical Discipline Lead within the Buildings + Places practice.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- 8+ years of electrical engineering experience
- Strong knowledge of NEC/NFPA/IES
- Experience designing building electrical systems (power, lighting, emergency, low-voltage)
- Proficiency with SKM, ETAP, Easypower, Revit, AutoCAD
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Colorado or ability to obtain via comity within 6 months
