Job Summary
Support project delivery by assisting with design coordination, documentation, and periodic job site observations for electrical systems in buildings. Contribute to education-focused building projects while advancing high-performance, energy-efficient design aligned with MEP2050 and AIA2030 standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals, review documents for accuracy, and prepare addendum information. Conduct research for commercially available equipment and maintain client relations through design notebooks and prompt documentation of decisions. This 10-12 week summer internship offers hands-on experience within the Rock Island MEP team, which specializes in higher-education, healthcare, and aviation projects across the Midwest.
Required Qualifications
- Completed at least 2 years towards a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent required
- Previous exposure to CAD and/or Building Information Model software
- Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
- Must be available for Full-time in office, 10-12 week summer program

- Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferred
