Job Summary
Electrical Engineering Intern position in Doha, Qatar at Parsons. The role involves assisting with electrical design drawings and documents for infrastructure, transportation, and building projects; supporting development of power distribution, lighting, and ICA/low-voltage system layouts; performing basic engineering calculations under supervision; preparing drawings, reports, and technical documentation; coordinating with other disciplines to ensure proper integration; updating drawings based on redlines; and collecting technical data while engaging with multidisciplinary teams for hands-on learning and professional growth. The internship offers mentorship, exposure to live projects, and networking opportunities within a professional consulting environment.
Required Qualifications
- Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering at an accredited university in Qatar
- Strong academic background with coursework relevant to: Power systems Electrical design Basic control systems (preferred)
- Basic proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD or similar)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow engineering standards and procedures
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment
- Eagerness to learn and contribute in a professional engineering setting
- Exposure to Power systems? (as per description)
- Exposure to Lighting design or low-voltage/ICA system design (preferred)
- Exposure to BIM/Revit (Electrical) or other digital design tools (preferred)
- Familiarity with infrastructure or transportation electrical design workflows (preferred)
- Interest in projects involving infrastructure, transportation, and building services (preferred)
- Ability to manage time effectively and work toward project deadlines
