Job Summary
Hands-on Electrical Engineering Intern role focusing on design, development, and testing of electrical and embedded systems for customer projects. You’ll own components from ideation to production, prototype PCB layouts, debugging firmware on prototype boards, and integrating embedded systems. Responsibilities include schematic capture, PCB layout, component selection, hardware prototyping, and using lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters) for board bring-up, troubleshooting, and system-level debugging. You’ll work with embedded C or HDL (Verilog/VHDL), and collaborate with a mentor to level up technical skills while contributing to real hardware designs across industries. The role emphasizes hands-on hardware development, rapid prototyping, and applying strong engineering fundamentals in a professional setting.
Required Qualifications
- Current enrollment in college (Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Math, or related field)
- First or second year circuits classes and knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals
- Familiarity with at least one programming language (e.g., Python, C, C++, R) or hardware description language (e.g., Verilog/VHDL)
- Demonstrated passion and curiosity for electrical engineering
- Strong problem-solving skills and initiative to overcome technical challenges
- Strong written and verbal technical communication skills; ability to explain design decisions and component selections
- Experience with analog circuits, mixed-signal designs, embedded programming, RF, power electronics, or optical systems development
