Electrical Engineering Intern - Energy Storage (Summer 2027)

Job Summary
Conduct electrical testing and validation of battery energy storage systems and associated electronics while supporting the creation and execution of test plans. Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and assembly drawings to assist with troubleshooting integration issues during product development. Participate in prototype assembly and laboratory testing activities, helping evaluate components and sustain engineering projects through design improvements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, sourcing, quality, and product management to support compliance and certification activities. Maintain safe laboratory practices and follow established safety procedures while working around energized electrical equipment.
Required Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field
- Minimum sophomore standing
- Basic understanding of electrical circuits and electronic components
- Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to work in a laboratory and manufacturing environment
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 lbs
- Ability to safely work around energized electrical equipment under supervision and established safety procedures

- Experience or coursework in one or more of the following areas: Battery Management Systems (BMS)
- Experience or coursework in one or more of the following areas: Power electronics
- Experience or coursework in one or more of the following areas: Industrial power systems
- Experience or coursework in one or more of the following areas: Renewable energy systems
- Experience or coursework in one or more of the following areas: Electrical testing and instrumentation
- Experience or coursework in one or more of the following areas: Data acquisition systems
- Experience or coursework in one or more of the following areas: MATLAB, Python, or LabVIEW
- Experience or coursework in one or more of the following areas: AutoCAD Electrical or similar CAD software
- Experience or coursework in one or more of the following areas: Embedded systems and communication protocols (CAN, Modbus, Ethernet)
