Job Summary

Create design documents, drawings, and wiring diagrams for substation projects, including generating bills of materials and applying field mark-ups under direct supervision. Perform engineering calculations such as relay burden, load flow, short circuit, and transformer sizing while applying industry standards like NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE, and ANSI. Apply engineering application software for ground grid design and relay coordination, and spend time at job sites to gain hands-on knowledge of substation construction. Complete assigned tasks to meet project schedules, bring potential problems and solutions to the responsible party, and travel to project locations as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Working towards a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university
  • Knowledge of electrical AC/DC fundamentals
  • Basic knowledge of three phase power systems
  • Ability to sit for extended periods during computer-based work
  • Ability to stand and walk intermittently throughout the workday
  • Occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds
  • Occasional travel to other offices or meeting locations
  • Candidates must be at least 18 years of age
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without current or future visa sponsorship
