Job Summary
Create design documents, drawings, and wiring diagrams for substation projects, and generate bills of materials under direct supervision. Perform engineering calculations including relay burden, load flow, short circuit studies, and transformer sizing while applying standards such as NEC, NESC, and IEEE. Spend time at job sites to gain hands-on knowledge of substation construction and design, and bring potential project problems to the attention of responsible parties. Deliver accurate work on schedule, travel to project sites as needed, and complete other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Working towards a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university
- Knowledge of electrical AC/DC fundamentals
- Basic knowledge of three phase power systems
- Ability to sit for extended periods during computer-based work
- Ability to stand and walk intermittently throughout the workday
- Occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds
- Occasional travel to other offices or meeting locations
- Candidates must be at least 18 years of age
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without current or future visa sponsorship
