Job Summary
Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established procedures to perform detailed or routine electrical assignments involving calculations and designs. Proposes approaches to solve problems using modifications of standard methods and identifies discrepancies to present alternative solutions. Provides guidance to entry-level engineers while performing work in accordance with agreed-upon budgets and schedules with little supervision. Assists in early project design, including conceptual studies, electrical loads, equipment sizing, and vendor shop drawing reviews. Develops design documents, technical bid analyses, and detailed calculation packages. Works independently with minimal supervision to complete multiple technical tasks under tight deadlines.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
- 2 years of relevant experience
- Valid U.S. Driver's License
- Willingness to travel to domestic and international locations for projects
- Attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location
Desired Qualifications
- demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- PE in Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, Arizona, or ability to acquire a PE
- On-site field experience in construction, commissioning and start-ups
- MSHA Miner training
- Experience in processing instrumentation and controls
- Working knowledge of 3D CAD systems
- Strong written and oral communication, quantitative, and people skills
- Strong work ethic and professional demeanor
- Initiative-taking on assignments and demonstrate initiative
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and complete multiple technical tasks under tight deadlines
- Author reports and prepare detailed calculation packages including proper documentation and references
- Must be resourceful, highly organized, professional with attention to detail and people
