Job Summary
Assist with creating electrical designs for custom automation equipment using Eclipse standards and templates. Support engineering calculations for short-circuit ratings and panel heat loss, then update drawings, complete redlines, and maintain accurate design documentation. Provide electrical support during equipment integration, testing, and troubleshooting while learning safety standards and automation systems. This co-op serves as a pathway toward an Electrical Design role, offering opportunities to expand technical expertise and take on greater responsibility over time.
Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electromechanical Engineering, Industrial Electrical, Mechatronics, or a related field
- Mechanical aptitude and the ability to understand technical drawings, schematics, and equipment layouts
- Curiosity, initiative, and a willingness to learn new technical skills in a fast-paced environment
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team
- High attention to detail and a strong commitment to safety and quality
- Students must be enrolled in a post-secondary academic program requiring a co-op/work term
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with electrical schematics and wiring principles is considered an asset
- Experience with SolidWorks, AutoCAD Electrical, or other CAD software is considered an asset
