Job Summary
Electrical Engineering Co-op focusing on power distribution, lighting, low-voltage systems, and reading electrical diagrams. Responsibilities include assisting with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations; learning Autodesk Revit to model Electrical, Lighting & Low Voltage components; collaborating with senior engineers to develop drawings and specifications; traveling to job sites to survey existing buildings and progress; becoming familiar with building codes and standards; and contributing to documentation and ethical decision-making in line with WSP policies. The role offers exposure to infrastructure, commercial, higher education, science & technology, and healthcare sectors, with opportunities to gain hands-on experience through the Drexel Co-op Program.
Required Qualifications
- Actively enrolled in an accredited Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related Undergraduate program through Drexel University with an anticipated graduation date of March 2027 or later
- Demonstrated interest in Electrical Engineering, or related field
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interaction with engineering and non-engineering audiences
- Ability to take direction from leadership, mentors, and managers
- Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology, and tools
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by health, safety and harassment policies
- Authorization to work in the United States at the start of the internship
