Job Summary
The Electrical Engineer, Business Development acts as the frontline evaluator of new opportunities, determining manufacturability, capacity, and supply-chain readiness to support bids. Responsibilities include reviewing engineering specifications for manufacturability, developing accurate cost estimates and should-cost models, making go/no-go recommendations based on technical feasibility and strategic alignment, coordinating with factory engineering and manufacturing teams to validate production approaches and tooling, and building pricing frameworks to improve competitiveness. The role requires reading engineering drawings and GD&T, understanding AS9100/NADCAP/MIL-SPEC standards, and maintaining current knowledge of procurement processes. Collaboration with Analysts, Product Managers, and executive leadership to ensure technically accurate content and realistic delivery timelines is essential, as is staying informed about industry trends and ITAR/government contract constraints.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related technical discipline
- 3+ years in a full-time technical hardware engineering role in aerospace, defense, or a similar technical industry
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and military/aerospace specifications
- Strong understanding of common manufacturing processes including CNC machining, casting, forging, sheet metal fabrication, welding, and surface treatments
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- U.S. citizenship required (government contract work)
