Job Summary
Deliver HV (primary) design for transmission & distribution substations, HV infrastructure, and data centre projects covering layouts, ratings, sizing, and technical oversight. Develop detailed specifications at both project and equipment levels while applying knowledge of power system protection, SCADA systems, transmission lines, underground cables, and earthing design. Support high-voltage scope for Owner's Engineer and Technical Due Diligence projects, review and verify designs prepared by peers, and mentor junior engineers to champion technical excellence. Drive Safety-in-Design and ensure compliance with legislative requirements while collaborating across civil, structural, and control systems disciplines. Undertake short-term site visits as needed and contribute to proposals and business development initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- 2–8+ years' post-graduate experience in HV/EHV electrical engineering
- RPEQ/RPEV registration or eligibility
- Proven consultancy experience
- Strong background in substation design, HV infrastructure, cable systems, transmission & distribution utilities, renewable energy projects, and/or data centres
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide clear, robust advice to clients
- Skilled in proposal and report writing
