Job Summary
Design water transmission and distribution systems, pumping stations, conveyance systems, and treatment plants for municipal utilities. Manage project tasks, design, and permitting while coordinating construction and multidisciplinary teams. Maintain high-quality plan sets, check others' work, and monitor project progress, budgets, and schedules. Receive formal training, mentorship, and exposure to plan production, project financials, and client interaction. This role requires a P.E. license or ability to obtain within 12 months, 4+ years of relevant experience, and proficiency in AutoCAD. Based in Kimley-Horn's St. Petersburg, Florida office, the team prioritizes client success and employee development within a Fortune 100 Best Company culture.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of relevant electrical engineering design experience
- Professional Engineering (P.E.) License (or ability to obtain within 12 months)
- Relevant municipal engineering experience including designing pump stations, pipelines, water/wastewater treatment facilities
- Experience with designing electrical/instrumentation & controls for pump stations and treatment plants
- Experience using AutoCAD
- Communicating technical thoughts clearly and concisely
- Excellent technical writing skills
- Positive attitude, self-motivated; sense of urgency to produce high quality work
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Entrepreneurial spirit with the potential/desire to lead a practice and manage clients and a team
