Job Summary
Diagnose complex electrical system issues and respond to customer requests for information. Assess functionality of electrical systems to present vulnerabilities, impacts, and outline cascading effects. Provide technical support to internal teams and leadership for infrastructure-related decisions. Develop, interpret, and implement software tools and AI tools for facility condition assessments. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors to ensure efficient service delivery. Provide professional inputs on infrastructure design, construction, commissioning, operation, and maintenance matters. Review building power distribution, communications, controls, telecommunication, and security systems. Design electrical systems supporting power, communications, controls, fire protection, HVAC, and water systems. Perform electrical engineering studies to determine vulnerabilities of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, communications, and security systems. Work within a fast-paced, high-energy government facility environment in Reston, Virginia. Requires active TS/SCI Polygraph clearance and US citizenship.
Required Qualifications
- Active and in-scope TS/SCI Polygraph clearance
- US Citizen
- Expert knowledge of and ability to apply advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts
- BS degree and 8+ years of prior relevant experience
- Masters degree and 6+ years of prior relevant experience
- Doctorate in technical domain
- Proficiency in the use of computer-aided design (CAD) and building information modeling (BIM) tools
- Familiarity with mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP) systems, fire protection systems, communications, controls, and security systems
- Ability to apply federal, state, local and international building codes and standards
- Demonstrated expertise in the design, development, and testing of complex electrical systems
- Familiarity with commercial and industrial control systems
- Deep understanding of high availability and multi-building electrical facilities operations
- Ability to resolve highly complex, multi-disciplinary technical problems across electrical systems
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage senior leadership and clients on technical strategy and results
Desired Qualifications
- Recognized subject matter expert (SME) in electrical engineering design, commissioning, operations and maintenance for facilities and building infrastructures
- Registered Professional Engineering (P.E.) in electrical engineering from any U.S. state or territory
- Proven experience with electrical construction, systems integration, and testing in field environments
- Proficiency in project management methodologies, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource planning
- Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other CAD and BIM software tools
- Familiarity with python programing, java script, and application of AI tools
- Proficiency in the use electrical power systems analysis software tools such as ETAP, SKM, and EasyPower
