Electrical Engineer

Job Summary
Lead the design and detail of engineering activities for industrial electrical equipment, including developing drawings, sizing components, and preparing bills of materials. Provide technical leadership on electrical systems and control panels while collaborating with global teams to finalize schematics and layouts. Review project specifications and codes to ensure compliance, issue drawing packages for manufacturing, and support internal and external clients. Participate in client meetings, design reviews, and commissioning activities, responding to inquiries time-sensitively to maintain delivery deadlines. Maintain full-time onsite presence at the Calgary facility for close interaction with fabrication teams. Ensure all control panels meet regulatory requirements and internal quality standards while adhering to established safety laws and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Working knowledge with CSA and UL standard, hazardous location classification and requirement
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Proficiency in electrical design software such as AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, SEE Electrical and/or SOLIDWORKS Electrical
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant industrial working experience with a focus on power systems, control systems and automation
- Full-time onsite presence every day for close interaction with the fabrication and engineering teams at our manufacturing facility in Calgary, AB
Desired Qualifications
- PLC programming knowledge and/or experience
- Familiarity with the following codes and standards: Canadian Electrical Code, CSA 22.1, CSA 22.2 No.14, 25, 30, NFPA 70, 496, UL 508, 508A, 698, 698A, Applicable IEC standards for both unclassified area and hazardous area (IEC 60079-0 & 60079-1), ATEX, Low Voltage, EMC directives
- Knowledge of ERP systems used in manufacturing
