Job Summary
Design electrical control systems and review existing ones for gas fired, electrode, and electric boilers. Prepare schematic wiring diagrams, control panel layouts, and bills of materials while selecting components to meet customer specifications and NEC, NFPA, UL, and CSA code requirements. Write PLC programs, maintain UL files, and check with shop assemblers to ensure designs are practical and safe. Assist customers and service technicians with remote and on-site troubleshooting, and write technical descriptions for operating instructions. Support marketing, purchasing, and manufacturing by developing new product options, approving alternate sources, and improving production processes. Report to the Engineering Supervisor in Morristown, TN, with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and 5+ years of experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
- 5+ years electrical engineering experience preferred
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
- Ability to read all applicable drawings, including mechanical, electrical and instrumentation
- Must have expertise and proficiency with basic office computer software, e.g. Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Power Point, MS Project, Access, etc.
- Proficient with CAD for creating and editing drawings
- A working knowledge of ASME Pressure Vessel Codes, boilers, heat transfer equipment, or auxiliary boiler room equipment is preferred
