Job Summary
Electrical Engineer at a 100% ESOP-owned engineering firm focused on embedded electronics for aerospace/defense applications. Designs, develops, and validates embedded hardware across the full hardware lifecycle, from requirements to fielded systems. Responsibilities include designing complex multilayer PCB assemblies, schematic capture and layout with KiCad/Altium, sensor integration (IMUs, magnetometers, GNSS, ADCs), power supply design (switching regulators, LDOs), high-speed interfaces (USB, SPI, CAN/CAN-FD), board bring-up and debugging, test protocol development and reporting, and ensuring environmental, vibration, and reliability considerations for aerospace/industrial electronics. Collaboration with software/systems engineers, technical documentation, and potential expansion into program ownership. Qualifications include BS/MS in Electrical/Computer Engineering, 5+ years of relevant experience, and proficiency with STM32 microcontrollers and EDA tools. Bonus: experience with UAS flight controls, avionics, robotics, automotive, embedded C/C++, and ESOP-focused, benefits-rich environment.
Required Qualifications
- BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of embedded electronics design experience
- Proven experience designing complex multilayer PCB assemblies (6+ layers preferred)
- Experience with STM32 microcontrollers, preferably the STM32H7 family
- Schematic development and PCB layout experience using KiCad, Altium, or similar EDA tools
- Experience designing high-speed digital circuits including USB, SPI, and CAN/CAN-FD
- Experience with power supply design including switching regulators and LDOs
- Experience selecting, integrating, and debugging sensors such as IMUs, magnetometers, pressure sensors, GNSS receivers, and ADCs
- Experience with board bring-up and hardware debugging
- Familiarity with environmental, vibration, and reliability considerations for aerospace or industrial electronics
