Job Summary
Leidos seeks an Electrical Engineer (Spectrum Engineer) with specialized experience in Satellite frequency assignment to support the FAA's Spectrum Engineering Services Group. The role involves conducting RF analysis, managing frequency assignments, and ensuring compliance with aviation standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications, or equivalent technical field
- 3+ years of relevant experience in radio frequency engineering, satellite communications, or spectrum engineering
- Comprehensive understanding of radio-frequency spectrum engineering principles
- Understanding of satellite link budgets and orbital parameters
- U.S. citizenship and active Secret (or higher) clearance required
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with SATCOM system engineering (GEO, MEO, LEO)
- Familiarity with NTIA Redbook satellite chapters, FCC Part 25, or ITU Radio Regulations
- Experience applying analytical and automation tools to perform frequency-assignment processing and compatibility analysis
- Familiar with Spectrum XXI or similar federal spectrum management tools
