Job Summary
Electrical Engineer Jr with 5–10 years of experience responsible for designing electrical systems across industrial, utility, commercial, and infrastructure projects. Roles include developing diagrams and plans (one-line diagrams, grounding, conduit, cable schedules, lighting, equipment, panel schedules, electrical details), performing load calculations and power-system studies (load flow, voltage drop, short circuit, coordination), developing and reviewing sequences for protective relaying and PLC controls, coordinating with vendors and multidisciplinary teams, conducting field investigations, site walkdowns, and supporting construction, commissioning, and startup activities. Strong knowledge of motors, transformers, switchgear, MCCs, VFDs, protective relays, and building automation systems; familiarity with NEC/NESC/NEMA/IEEE/ANSI/NFPA standards; proficiency with SKM/ETAP/EasyPower or similar software; ability to communicate effectively with architects, engineers, contractors, vendors, and clients.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university
- 5–10 years of professional experience in engineering design, consulting engineering, industrial facilities, utility infrastructure, or related environments
- Working knowledge of NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE, ANSI, and NFPA
- Proficiency with computer applications and engineering software
- Experience with SKM, ETAP, EasyPower, or similar software preferred
- Strong understanding of electrical distribution systems, power system studies, protective relaying, PLC controls, and building automation systems
- Experience with field investigations, renovation projects, retrofits, or brownfield industrial environments preferred
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
- Experience leading and collaborating with engineering teams, including mentoring or training junior staff
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong focus on quality, safety, and client satisfaction
- Licensed Professional Engineer, PE, preferred
