Electrical Engineer / Site Inspector

Job Summary
Conduct electrical inspections to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and codes including the Canadian Electrical Code and BC Building Code. Provide technical support and engineering guidance to construction teams to resolve on-site issues while reviewing shop drawings, RFIs, and change orders. Perform quality assurance checks on materials and workmanship, monitor construction progress, and document non-conformances and corrective actions. Support project close-out activities, including punch lists and final inspections, ensuring adherence to municipal and provincial standards. This site-based role in North Vancouver requires a P.Eng. with 4+ years of field experience in wastewater treatment plant construction.
Required Qualifications
- P.Eng. certification within Canada
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- 4+ years of Electrical field experience in construction inspection, quality assurance, or site engineering
- Proficiency in Electrical code
- Proficiency in software
- Must be available for site work in North Vancouver
- Must attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location as a condition of employment
Desired Qualifications
- 8+ years of Electrical field experience in construction inspection, quality assurance, or site engineering
- demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Strong technical knowledge in Electrical design
- familiarity with relevant codes (NBC, CSA, ACI standards)
- Ability to work with ETAP, EasyPower and design tools such as AutoCAD and/or other design tools (AutoCAD P&IDs/Electrical, REVIT MEP)
- Experience working in multi-disciplinary projects
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents
- Excellent problem-solving skills to address site-related challenges efficiently
- Strong communication skills to liaise with contractors, consultants, and regulatory authorities
- Proficiency in inspection reporting, documentation, and construction monitoring tools
- Experience conducting Electrical condition assessments and field investigations
- Experience with Metro Vancouver engineering standards
