Job Summary
Conduct research, development, test, and integration of custom embedded systems and special communications capabilities. Complete design and development of electrical circuits, RF receivers, and compact antenna designs, including schematic capture, PCB layout, and circuit assembly. Perform analog/digital circuit design, embedded microcontroller design, and coding to enable electronic designs. Support integration and testing of developed products, leading developmental and verification testing including electromagnetic and environmental tests. Work with Project Leads to analyze requirements, identify technical risks, and develop prototypes to prove out designs. Coordinate with mechanical engineers regarding design integration and adhere to configuration management processes. Present technical status and decisions during design reviews.

- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Master's degree
- Knowledge of the design, development, fabrication, and quality assurance of electrical and electronic systems that will be used in austere operational environments
- Ability to learn and apply innovative technologies and techniques, within the electrical/electronic engineering discipline, toward to the products, processes, and capabilities
- Demonstrates mature understanding of electrical engineering topics such as; analog/digital circuit design, embedded microcontroller design, and compact antenna design and integration
- Able to perform, document, and defend modeling and analysis
- Demonstrates mature knowledge and experience with test methodologies, diagnostic equipment, and software used to inspect, test, analyze, and resolve electrical systems and designs
- Demonstrates ability to clearly and effectively articulate, present, and promote varied ideas and issues (to include sensitive or controversial topics) before a wide range of audiences
- Makes clear and convincing oral presentations
- Listens effectively; clarifies information as needed
- Conveys written information in a clear, concise, organized, and convincing manner for the intended audience, using correct English grammar, punctuation, and spelling
- Expresses thoughts persuasively and uses effective modes to reinforce message retention
